Massage therapy does more than make you feel good, it can actually help your body achieve balance and health. Massage therapy offers a natural treatment approach which actually relieves musculoskeletal pain for many patients. Our chiropractic office provides specific massage and muscular therapy that is complimentary to their chiropractic care. Each massage therapy plan is tailored to meet the patient’s unique pain condition or injury. The benefits of massage therapy may include the increase of blood circulation, a localized reduction in swelling and the relaxation of muscles. Massage has been known to relieve muscle pain and spasms, increase a patient’s range of motion, while also aiding in a patient’s recovery. Some investigative studies have even indicated that a single session of massage may help boost your immune system!

About Massage Therapy and your Insurance Benefits
We’d be happy to check into your insurance to see if Massage Therapy is a covered benefit. More and more, nowadays, it IS a covered benefit, but only covered if an actual doctor (MD, DC, DO, PT) performs the service. In insurance speak, it can not be ‘delegated’ to a massage therapist to perform the service. What this means is, a chiropractic doctor CAN massage a patient for at least 8 minutes and bill this as 1 unit of massage therapy, CPT code 97124. Our office does not do this. We leave it up to the professionals, our on staff licensed massage therapists! Besides, you wouldn’t want Dr. Kraig to massage you!
Some insurance plans DO cover massage if delegated to a massage therapist in our office. Some do not. We’ll gladly check into this for you!
Also, be aware that you CAN still receive Massage Therapy in our office if it’s not a covered benefit on your insurance, or you have no insurance at all. Just know that you will have to pay at the time of service as we are unable to bill it.
